About me

Hi there and welcome!  My name is Ruth Davies.  So you can get to know me – I work at BC Hydro, and have worked there for 30 years!  I am an Electrical Distribution Design instructor and have been in that role since 2009.  My learner audience is made up of  Graduate Electrical Technologists, Distribution Design Technicians and Distribution Design Representatives.  There are four courses in my curriculum, Transformers & Secondary, Poles & Primary, Underground Electrical Distribution Fundamentals and Advanced Underground Electrical Design.

Outside of work, I have a very busy life!  We live in the beautiful Shuswap area of BC in the City of Salmon Arm.  We love boating, quadding, cooking, entertaining and spending time with family and friends.  And of course taking advantage of all of the excellent wineries in our region.

My husband and I love to travel – certainly wish we could do more!  There are so many places, and so little time – and money!!

I am just starting the last course in my PIDP journey, after this, the last is the Capstone Project.

So far in this learning journey, learning how to blog has probably been my biggest challenge!
